TOTAL CHEMICAL INNOVATIONS (TCI), is a chemical manufacturer, started its journey and dealt with FMCG products like cosmetic floating bath soap. At TCI, we combine the power of science and technology to passionately innovate what is essential to human progress.
We had the privilege of participating in the demonstration conducted by the National Innovation Foundation in October,2010 at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
We also participated in the Four –day exhibition held in Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi, in March, 2011.
In Expo – 2013, we participated in the national level exhibition held at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
In 2013, we participated in the national Conference on "Expanding Horizons of Innovation Communication"
In 5.1.2013 –Raipur, Chattisgarh by NCSC together. With C.C.S.T. at college of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Viswavidhyalaya.
The Founder
Mr. C.A. Vincent, the founder of TOTAL CHEMICAL INNOVATIONS, is born in Kattoor village in 1955. His father Mr. C.C Antony was manufacturing soaps long back. It was Mr. Antony who motivated, encouraged and helped his son Mr. Vincent to enter in this soap manufacturing filed. Mr. Vincent therefore took it up very seriously and firm determination started further experiments which ultimately made success in manufacturing a unique soap which not only but aslo floats in water but can be used effectly in hard water, yellow coloured water and water with lime content. Only a few people like him who started from a humble beginning grew many fold to become the pioneers and market leaders in the soap industry in south India. He was received national award for Grassroots Innovations in 2009. He has been selected as one of the top 120 talents of India which is recorded in the India Book of Records – 2012.
Milestone
The floating soap is the outcome of experiments conducted by Mr. C.A. Vincent in his soap manufacturing unit for about 14 years. The idea is to create a soap with lighter density than that of water and thereby enables it to float in water. He aimed at soluing the soaps in water while bathing in ponds and rivers. He tried to create a new kind of soap the density of which is lighter than that of water. This soap is made from Sodium Hydroxide and coconut oil/vegetable oil. The composition of the soap is kept as the same as that of normal toilet soaps. However, the process of making the soap is modified in such a way that the density of soap is maintained at 0.878 g/cm3. This soap is less acidic than traditional soaps. That enables it to retain the natural oils of skin. In the making of the soap, no animal fat or synthetic chemicals are used. The soap also dries up very fast after removal from water when compared with traditional soaps.
Mr. C.A Vincent demonstrated his innovation before Hon'ble President of India Smt. Prathiba Devi Singh Patel on 5th National Grass Root Innovation Award Foundation at New Delhi on 18.11.2009.
